Why it’s important to control energy consumption

Managing energy consumption can enhance business efficiency and lower production expenses. Through energy optimization, production times can be reduced, and heat or pressure losses minimized, resulting in increased productivity. Overseeing energy consumption aligns with responsible and sustainable practices, which can enhance the company’s image and reputation among customers and stakeholders. Demonstrating a commitment to environmental impact can bolster the company’s credibility and legitimacy in the marketplace.

Measuring energy entails understanding our consumption, determining the energy costs associated with production equipment and utilities, and identifying potential areas for savings.

Types of energy metering for industrial applications:

LIQUID METERING:

  • Measurement of energy, volume (mass), flow, and power for liquids
  • Calculation of heat quantity and corresponding flow rates from liquid circulation through hot or cold exchange systems.

STEAM METERING:

  • Measurement of energy, volume (mass), flow, and power for steam.
  • Calculation of heat quantity and corresponding flow rates based on steam flow measurement, pressure, and/or temperature measurements using specific algorithms.

GAS and AIR METERING:

  • Measurement of energy, volume (mass), flow, and power for gas and air.
  • Calculation of gas flows, gas quantities, and energy based on flow, pressure, and temperature measurements.

BIOGAS METERING:

  • Instantaneous and corrected flow measurements, temperature, pressure, and volumes of flared and recovered biogas
  • Acquisition of measurements (pressure, temperature, and flow) for recovery zones and flares
  • Calculation of flared volume and recovered volume (daily, monthly, and annual) in Nm3
  • Display of measured data on an ECU with touchscreen capability
  • Calculation of site recovery rate. Generation and export of reports
